New PAC Promotes Nevada Governor Candidate Danielle Ford as ‘AOC of Nevada’ with GOP Connections

A recently established political action committee (PAC) is promoting Danielle Ford, a nonpartisan candidate for governor in Nevada, by dubbing her the “AOC of Nevada.” The mailer features a graphic of Ford alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) against a striking red background and was funded by the Silver State Accountability PAC, which formed on October 8.

The PAC’s registration paperwork revealed that it has no online presence, and its listed website was under construction as of Tuesday. Ford, who is involved in education governance and has an independent candidacy, shares a surname with Democratic candidate and Attorney General Aaron Ford, which could potentially mislead voters. With the political race viewed as closely contested, boosting Ford among progressive voters might serve the purpose of confusing the electorate.
