Community briefs: City of Las Vegas to accept toys to pay some parking tickets

The city of Las Vegas has announced a program allowing residents to exchange toy donations for partial payment of specific parking tickets issued between October 1 and November 13. To participate, ticket holders must provide new, unwrapped toys valued at least equal to their fines, along with a receipt, at the Parking Services Office located at 350 S. City Parkway within 30 days of receiving a citation.

This initiative is designed to assist families in need, as the collected toys will be donated to Chicanos Por La Causa, a nonprofit organization focused on securing permanent housing for homeless families. Accepted items include family games, gift cards, and toys suitable for children aged 6 months to 18 years, and donations will be collected until December 14.
