On October 19, Clark County partnered with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to launch the Good 2 Go campaign in observance of Teen Driver Safety Week. The initiative encourages teenagers to undergo proper training and obtain valid licenses before driving on local roads. Community officials are urging families to engage in discussions about safe driving early on.
Statistics reveal the pressing need for this campaign, as the Las Vegas Review Journal noted that 427 children were involved in traffic accidents in Southern Nevada last year. Clark County Commission Chairman Michael Naft emphasized the national issue, reporting that about one in five young drivers involved in fatal crashes were either unlicensed or driving with invalid licenses. The campaign, funded by a $100,000 donation from the Las Vegas Grand Prix, will utilize billboards, social media, and digital advertisements throughout the Las Vegas Valley to spread its safety message.
