C.J. Gardner-Johnson: "I've got to control my emotions"

During the match against the Raiders in Las Vegas on Sunday, Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson faced ejection after allegedly spitting on an opponent. Post-game, Gardner-Johnson spoke about the incident, stating, “I’ve got to be a better player, I’ve got to be a better vet. I let my emotions get above me, and I hurt my team.” He acknowledged the responsibility placed on him to contribute significantly in crucial games.

When questioned directly about the spitting allegation, Gardner-Johnson avoided giving a clear answer but reiterated the need to manage his emotions. “You’ve got to take it on the chin like a grown man,” he noted, admitting the impact of his actions. Gardner-Johnson also mentioned that he had apologized to coach Joe Brady and the rest of the team, while Brady emphasized that team discipline must improve to prevent such incidents in the future.
