Federal Judge Denies Las Vegas Sun’s Emergency Bid to Force Print Distribution by Review-Journal

LAS VEGAS, NV — In a significant ruling concerning the extended legal conflict in Southern Nevada’s media landscape, a federal judge has declined an urgent request from the Las Vegas Sun to mandate that the Las Vegas Review-Journal restart the printing and distribution of the Sun in alignment with their Joint Operating Agreement (JOA).

This decision, issued by the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada at the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse, marks an important procedural moment in the years-long antitrust dispute between the two daily newspapers. Although the court identified several key antitrust issues favoring the Sun, the judge determined that an immediate injunction requesting the Review-Journal to print the Sun was not legally appropriate at this juncture, designating the necessity for a complete trial to explore these claims further.
