Clark County is calling for applications from qualified residents who want to join the Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board of Directors. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on November 16.
The Las Vegas Stadium Authority is responsible for overseeing the operations and ownership of Allegiant Stadium, which is home to the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, in addition to the new Major League Baseball stadium that is currently under construction for the Athletics and is slated to open in 2028. The board manages both stadiums and the related land, allocates revenue through a coverage waterfall system, and supervises capital improvement funds.
Applicants must reside within 25 miles of the Clark County Government Center. Although specific professional experience is not mandated, candidates are encouraged to consider residency and experience suggestions prior to applying. The appointed members will serve a three-year term starting January 1, 2027, and ending January 1, 2030. It is important to note that board positions are unpaid.
Construction on the MLB ballpark at the former Tropicana site is reportedly ahead of schedule, with two of six roof trusses already completed as of August. Currently, over 750 craft workers are on-site daily. The anticipated completion date is before the commencement of the April 2028 baseball season.
Allegiant Stadium, which opened its doors in July 2020, has recently been granted approval for a public investment of $75 million aimed at enhancing fan access on its northern side as part of a larger $158 million accessibility initiative. This work is slated to begin after the 2026 NFL season, with completion expected before Super Bowl LXIII in February 2029.
Further details regarding the board and the application form are available online. The Clark County commissioners will consider the applications submitted by the November 16 deadline and are scheduled to appoint new members to the nine-member board during their meeting on December 1.
